From recycling to cycling…

The United Nation’s World Environment Day is 5 June each year. This year, the focus was on plastic pollution. There is debate about how much of our rubbish is actually being recycled. If we put 10 plastic bottles in the recycling bin and 50% is recycled that’s 5 bottles, if we put 100 bottles in, that’s 50 bottles, so we keep trying. You’ll find our plastics, tins and paper boxes in the kitchen.

5th to 11th June is bike week to enjoy and embrace cycling as a means of transport. If you’re visiting Cores End URC, consider cycling. We have cycle stands at the side of the church and it is quite flat in 2 directions (Cores End Road and Town Lane). Check your brakes before arriving via Harvest Hill or Kiln Lane.
